The project

One workspace for two connected questions.

The planner combines an earnings-based Social Security estimate with a long-range investment withdrawal model. It is designed for experimentation—not prediction—so every assumption remains visible and editable.

The public version starts empty and derives its timeline from the visitor’s birth year. No ages, earnings, balances, retirement dates, or return assumptions from the original private prototype are included.

Interactive calculator

Create your planning sandbox.

Start with a birth year to generate an age-based earnings timeline. Enter only the information you want to explore.

Private by design

Your entries are calculated locally and saved only in this browser’s storage. Peryton Design does not receive or transmit the values you enter.

01

Set up your timeline

Birth year determines the earnings years, full retirement age, indexing year, and formula year used by this educational model.

Calculation basis

Transparent assumptions, official reference points.

01

Highest 35 years

The estimate uses the 35 highest wage-indexed annual earnings values and treats missing years as zero.

02

Age-aware formula

Birth year determines full retirement age and the wage-index/formula year. When future official values are unavailable, the tool identifies the current-data proxy.
